Prof. N. Jeyakumar, completed his PhD in Bioinformatics from University of Ulster, Belfast, United Kingdom. His PhD research work is ‘Text Mining of Biomedical Literature and its Application to Microarray Data Analysis and Interpretation”.
He spent one year as a visiting pre-doctoral fellow at Northwestern Medical School, Northwestern University, Chicago, USA.
My current research activities focus on data mining, text mining and machine learning methods for microarray data analysis and interpretation and other high-throughput data from biology.
Other research interests include information retrieval (IR), web mining, bio-ontologies, and ontology mining in bioinformatics.
Before joining as a Reader in Bioinformatics at Dept of Bioinformatics, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore his past assignments includes Research Assistant, Jawaharlal Nehru University New Delhi (1995-1997) and Lecturer, Centre for Excellence in Bioinformatics, School of Biotechnology, Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai (1997-2007).
